 Hello Soul Fire Xmen!

Still feeling the flow of freestyle. Our guest host “Rashad tha Poet” set things off with performance tips and freestyle exercises. Officers decided to organize a showcase in November, and Brandon announced he would check into buying SF T-shirts. We were invited to area church for performance, and to Southern Festival (Brandon and Leona will perform on Friday Oct. 9. Videos from Wednesday’s practice will be posted on Facebook in the next couple of days.

We decided to continue workshopping performances for the following events:

Oct. 23 – Mural Project. We are to write/perform pieces about community, family, history and revolution. Looking forward to hearing those efforts next week.

Oct. 30 - African Cultural Night (hosted by the African Student Association). We should be prepared to read poems about Africa.

So much on the horizon! Keep writing!

Next meeting, 5:00p.m., 10/14/2015, Huma 103. (Officers should meet at 4:30p)

Bring a friend, a pen, and your Souuuuuul Fire!
